The Community Trust Foundation (CTF) connects philanthropy with community good across Allegany, Garrett, and Mineral Counties. For two decades, we’ve helped donors create meaningful legacies and empowered local solutions through strategic charitable giving.
With over $15 million in assets, CTF is a trusted philanthropic partner and catalyst for regional impact awarding nearly $750,000 annually in grants and scholarships. Our dedicated working board and two full-time staff have built a financially sound, mission-driven organization rooted in collaboration, integrity, and vision.
Role Overview
CTF is entering an exciting new chapter and we’re seeking a visionary, community-centered Executive Director to help lead the way. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for the well-being of our region and who thrives on relationship-building, strategic growth, and storytelling. The next Director will play a key role in:
- Expanding unrestricted funds to strengthen long-term sustainability
- Elevating CTF’s visibility through compelling media and outreach
- Deepening connections with donors, advisory groups, and regional partners
Reporting to: CTF Board President
Status: Full-time
Location: Cumberland, MD (regional travel required)
Compensation: ±$75,000
Key Responsibilities
Donor Engagement & Development
- Cultivate relationships with new and existing donors through personalized outreach and stewardship
- Implement strategic fundraising and donor communications plans
- Oversee fund agreements and grant processes
- Coordinate and plan events
- Manage the marketing, print & online communications
Organizational Leadership
- Provide thoughtful operational and administrative oversight
- Manage budget development, fiscal accountability, and reporting
- Ensure alignment with CTF’s policies, values, and fiduciary responsibilities
- Support staff, board members, and advisory committees
Community Collaboration
- Build trusted partnerships with civic, nonprofit, and business leaders
- Represent CTF in community forums, events, and regional initiatives
- Stay informed on emerging community needs and opportunities
Desired Qualifications

- Builds trust with diverse stakeholders and donors
- Thrives in a dynamic nonprofit environment
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven track record in fundraising, donor stewardship, or nonprofit leadership
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Technological fluency (email marketing, CRM tools, budgeting software)
