At the Community Trust Foundation, we believe philanthropy should be personal, purposeful, and deeply rooted in place. That’s the spirit behind our County Fund Campaign, a dynamic initiative designed to meet the distinct needs of Allegany, Garrett, and Mineral counties through flexible, community-driven grantmaking.
Unlike donor-directed funds, which support specific areas of interest, our three county funds offer a responsive way to address evolving local priorities. From youth leadership and workforce development to historical preservation, health & wellness, and the arts, these funds reflect the heartbeat of each community. They’re built by the community, for the community—and they’re already making a meaningful impact.
Thanks to the incredible generosity ignited by our 2023 county celebration events, the campaign has raised an impressive $500,000 across the region. That momentum is already translating into action—with $22,000 in grants awarded to local nonprofits doing vital, on-the-ground work in their communities.
Our previous events honored past humanitarians whose legacies continue to guide us. This year, we’re shifting the spotlight to the nonprofits themselves—the boots-on-the-ground changemakers using county fund grants to uplift lives and strengthen communities.
Each county will host a limited-seat celebration. Intimate, joyful gatherings featuring food, drinks, and immersive experiences that let guests truly feel the impact.
These aren’t just fundraisers—they’re affirmations of what’s possible when local giving meets local vision. Together, we’re building funds that will serve our counties for generations to come.
