Valley Alumni Give Back Through Scholarship

Alumni from the Valley High School Class of 1977 are emphasizing the importance of education by providing financial support for Mountain Ridge graduates through a scholarship fund at the Community Trust Foundation.

The annual scholarship benefits a graduating senior who is furthering their education at an accredited 2 or 4-year college program or trade/technical school. The student is not required to be a descendant of an alumni of Valley High School, but it is preferred.

“We’ve awarded this scholarship for the last 12 years, our committee wants to not only see it grow but be a permanent source of funding to benefit future graduates,” stated Kevin Smith. “We reached out to work with CTF because of their professional fund management and administrative services.”

Alumni or other community members can contribute to the fund by mailing a check made payable to CTF, 112 Baltimore Street, Suite 201, Cumberland MD 21502 or online at www.ctfinc.org.
