CTF has achieved accreditation through the Community Foundations National Standards Board.

The Community Trust Foundation is proud to have received accreditation from the Community Foundations National Standards Board. This means that CTF is recognized nationally as being in compliance with best practices in the Community Foundation world. The Community Foundations National Standards Board is a supporting organization of the Council on Foundations.

In 2013 CTF completed a lengthy application process including hundreds of pages of documents explaining how we operate, how we communicate with the public, the types of funds we manage, and how we grant out funds. In fact, the binder of documents submitted is about six inches thick! In each of these areas there are specific guidelines and rules which a foundation must follow to be in compliance with national standards.

We were pleased to have satisfied all these requirements. As stated in our award letter, “National Standards accreditation is a commitment to transparency, excellence stewardship, and leadership.” We are happy to join more than 500 community foundations that have received National Standards Board accreditation.

We also proudly display the National Standards seal on much of our communication so that our donors, grantees and the community at large can feel assured the Community Trust Foundation has achieved the highest levels of excellence in the philanthropic field.
