Garrett County

Garrett Mentors, Inc.

Garrett Mentors is a non-profit organization committed to providing mentoring for Pre-K through 5thgrade students in Garrett County Public Schools.  The program has been generously supported by Community Trust Foundation in the last 10 years and is evidence that the effort of just one person investing in the life of a child can make a significant difference in their world and their opportunity to succeed.

Lego Robotics

The coaches, parents, and team members of iLEGO began a community partner campaign in March 2014 to gain the support needed for the team to represent Garrett County and the state of Maryland at the North American Championship. ilego5_4x3In only two short months, the team achieved its goals and was able to compete. This was a community effort, and we thank EVERYONE for making this campaign a success!!

Our team members had the opportunity to share excitement, ideas, and fellowship with students from all over the United States and several from other countries.ilego3_sm

The research judges commented, “Great idea with potential to help a lot of people… awesome presentation!” The robot design judge stated “well built, simple yet effective mechanical design.” Our young team received exemplary rubric scores and was incredibly proud to be competing with the caliber of teams they met in California.

Lego Robotics couldn’t have provided this experience without the support of the Community Trust Foundation. And the Community Trust Foundation can’t provide that support without people like you.

Give people in our community the chance to lead healthier, happier, more productive lives. Give to the Community Trust Foundation.
