Athletic programs play an important role in building teamwork, discipline, confidence, and school pride—values that extend far beyond the playing field.
The Community Trust Foundation (CTF) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Keyser Athletic Trust, a fund created to support the construction and maintenance of athletic fields, gymnasiums, and facilities on Keyser school property that serve school-sanctioned athletic teams.
The fund will provide financial support for approved athletic facility projects benefiting Keyser schools, with distributions made to the Mineral County Board of Education in accordance with Community Trust Foundation policies. Initial priorities include addressing critical infrastructure needs such as turf replacement and the development of athletic facilities that enhance student safety, access, and performance.
“Investing in athletic facilities is an investment in young people,” said Pamela Twigg, Executive Director of the Community Trust Foundation. “Well-maintained spaces support not only physical health and skill development, but also the sense of belonging and pride that school athletics foster within a community.”
The Keyser Athletic Trust was established by a community-led committee formed in 2024 to inspire fundraising and provide leadership around long-term athletic facility needs.
As a component fund of the Community Trust Foundation, the Keyser Athletic Trust benefits from professional stewardship, transparency, and alignment with charitable best practices, ensuring that community contributions are managed responsibly and used as intended.
