The Community Trust Foundation (CTF) is pleased to announce the establishment of the Mountainside Baroque Support Fund, a fund created in 2025 to provide long-term financial support for the performance, educational, and community outreach programs of Mountainside Baroque.
The fund is designed to strengthen the organization’s ability to bring high-quality Baroque music and historically informed performances to the region while expanding opportunities for education and community engagement.
“Appreciation for the arts plays a vital role in shaping our collective identity,” said Pamela Twigg, Executive Director of the Community Trust Foundation. “Music and culture invite us to slow down, listen deeply, and connect with one another in meaningful ways. Supporting organizations like Mountainside Baroque helps preserve not only artistic excellence, but also the shared experiences that bind a community together across generations.”
Mountainside Baroque has long been recognized for its commitment to artistic integrity, educational programming, and community-centered performances. By partnering with the Community Trust Foundation, the organization gains a stable philanthropic structure to steward contributions responsibly and sustain its mission over time.
The Mountainside Baroque Support Fund will be administered in accordance with the Foundation’s policies, ensuring transparency, accountability, and alignment with charitable purposes.

This fund provides financial support for charitable initiatives benefiting Garrett County education.

This fund supports access to affordable homeownership in Garrett County. The Fund will provide financial assistance to eligible first-time homebuyers, including individuals or households who have not owned a home within the preceding three (3) years. Distributions from the Fund may be used to provide grants of $2,750 per eligible household to assist with down payment and/or closing costs related to the purchase of a primary residence. These grants are non-repayable and are intended to reduce financial barriers for qualifying buyers seeking to secure safe and affordable housing.

This fund provides financial support for outreach programs at God’s Ark of Safety Church in Frostburg, Maryland.

This fund provides financial support for charitable no-kill animal population control initiatives. These may include, but are not limited to, spay and neutering services and trap, neuter, release (TNR) programs in CTF’s geographic service area.

This fund provides financial support for charitable initiatives benefiting organizations in CTF’s geographic service area that promote youth activity and healthy living through sports. Grants will support youth sports programs, summer sports camps, etc. so that all children can participate. These programs could include any children under the age of 16 or people with special needs. The goal of this grant is to provide support for league fees and/ or equipment needs for those that have financial barriers.

This fund will assist with initiatives to expand access to affordable health care in our region.

The Remember the Holocaust School Trip Fund at CTF will cover the expenses of bus transportation to and from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C. as well as meals for Allegany County private and public students and chaperones at the museum café.
To participate, schools must have students studying the Holocaust in a certain grade or core class(es) and require students to create a reflection project about their visit.

This fund supports graduating seniors from Allegany, Garrett, and Mineral Counties who show a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in learning. It’s designed for students who may not have top grades or access to many resources but still have the drive to succeed. Whether they’re heading to college or trade school, this scholarship helps open doors for those working hard to build a future.

This fund provides financial support for children ages 5 through 18 to participate in Cumberland YMCA programs.

This fund supports youth development initiatives that improve the quality of life for youth in CTF’s geographic service area. Emphasis is on building the competencies needed to become successful adults by meeting the youth’s physical, developmental, and social needs. Initiatives may include, but are not limited to, community service projects, mentoring, after-school programming, youth clubs, and scouting.

Created by the Local Management Board, this fund benefits the development of the Youth Leadership Program across the CTF service area.
