Mineral County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who serve as voices for abused and neglected children as they navigate through the court system. The Jr. CASA program prepares the next generation to continue the legacy of the current programming and ensures there is no lapse in leadership. “It gives youth a platform to learn how to serve on a Board of Directors, have a voice in their community, gain professional skills, and most importantly gives them ownership of a cause in their community.” The one-of-a-kind program has captured the attention of other CASAs throughout the state and nation interested in implementing similar programs. The CTF Mineral County Fund granted $1,000 to support the Jr. CASA program.
