$924 was given to the HARTHelp’s program in Garrett County for providing low-cost spay/neuter services to pets of owners in low-income households who cannot afford the cost of the surgeries. The grant will subsidize 110 dog and cat surgeries. Studies show that pets who are spayed and neutered tend to live longer, healthier lives and reduce the cost for population control.
